Ape-X has a simian face, but speaks with an elegant and somewhat disarmingly casual voice in normal conversation, whiich becomes more shocking when he releases one of his primal roars. |

| AEGIS Notations for Icarus Authorized Personnel Only Originally one of the first members of Team Daedalus, Donovan was one of the first superheroes to gain his powers accidentally due to a mishap involving the escaped Lunotar and the Willis Tower incident. Donny, as his family and few friends came to know him, was always a gregarious hulk of a man who enjoyed body-building and modern media, two things that seemed very out of odds with his chosen profession an accountant and CPA working for MAPS Investments. Donny was called to work at the Willis Tower office on an October morning, where he was part of a finance meeting with upper management when the meeting was postponed. Donny, a long-time Chicago resident, decided to use his corporate paid executive pass to visit the top of the Willis Tower. Weeks after, he blacked out at work one morning and he awakened in a warehouse with dozens of military vehicles and law enforcement swarming around the warehouse he was in. Dr. Anson explained that he was a Quasar, a designation for a super-powered beings that have been around since the 1990's. He was in the form of the Simian, his chosen designation, when he realized he was unable to change from his newly enlarge ape form. Dr. Anson eventually drew him into working with Team Daedalus, a new Quasar team sponsored by the benevolent Daedalus Foundation. He was a vital member of the team until ithe fight with the Four Horsemen saw the Violet Plague attempt to disempower Team Daedalus. Simian identified the trap and knocked out the Violet Plague, but not after suffering the effects of the nanite neutralizer that disabled his powers. Donny survived that day, but Simian did not. It was not until the events of Prometheus Unbound when Donny's powers were awakened again and he went through paroxysm and transformation into a new form -- one not like the Simian and not like Donny. He became the optimal fusion of both his primal and human forms, and adopted the name the media gave him, which was Ape-X. After the United States government turned against Team Daedalus, he accepted the opportunity to lead a new team that Dr. Anson had been proposing before his untimely death. Hence, he is now the leader of Team Icarus, Rising with Hope. |
